Career Pathway Options

The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education course provides students with a number of career pathway opportunities:

Entry qualification	Deakin Study pathway	Qualification gained	Long Term Career Opportunities
Diploma of Children’s Services (Minimum entry qualification)	Complete 3rd and 4th Levels of the BECE	Bachelor of Early Childhood Education	Employment in 0 – 5 year old educational settings (4 year status) Possible progression to Accomplished Teacher or Exemplary Teacher status Preschool Director or Field Officer Employment in Government agencies, community services or not for profit organisations.
3 year trained Early Childhood Teacher (i.e. Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education))	Complete 1 year of study in the BECE	Bachelor of Early Childhood Education
3 year trained Early Childhood Teacher with excellent results	Complete BECE (Honours) year	Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (Honours)	Eligible to apply for PhD program
