How to apply

Applications

Applications for the 2009 academic year have now closed.

Offers for entry for 2009 will be made during the first week of October, November and December, 2008. If you are currently studying the Diploma of Children's Services please supply your first year's results. If you are granted a conditional offer this will be converted to an full offer once we have proof that you have successfully completed Diploma.

Applications for the next selection period will open in September, 2009 for the 2010 academic year. These applications must be submitted via the Deakin University Online Application System.

Please do not try to apply for the BECE through the VTAC as applications must be submitted directly to Deakin.

You will need to supply a Personal Statement, certified transcripts and/ or other documents to support your application.  You will need to send these to:

Please quote your application number which you'll receive once this application has been completed.

Aside from the minimum requirement of a Diploma of Children’s Services or equivalent qualification, applicants must provide evidence that they hold a current Level 2 First Aid certificate.

Selection Process

Other factors will be also be considered in the selection of students, such as your employment history, previous studies or voluntary work with children. Where applicable, applicants are encouraged to include evidence of the following with their application form:

Applicants with transcripts that include ungraded passes will need to provide evidence of the standard of their work as it compares with the work of other students. This could include a detailed reference from Diploma course co-ordinator, a professional portfolio, or written evaluations of work or professional experience.

Applications for the 2009 academic year have now closed. The next intake will open in September 2009 for the 2010 academic year.
