As Australia is on the cusp of significant growth in the early childhood education sector, the Faculty of Arts and Education has developed a new teacher education program to address the potential shortage of four year trained early childhood teachers.
The Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (BECE) will cover the age range of birth to five years and is available to qualified early childhood staff and kindergarten teachers seeking to extend their studies and upgrade their qualifications to the 4 year degree level.
The BECE allows participants to complete the required additional study in 2 years, building on their Diploma qualifications to gain a 4 year qualification. For 3 year trained kindergarten teachers it will only take one year of study.
