GENERAL INFORMATION

The Australian and New Zealand Association for Research in Music Education (ANZARME) was established at the Annual General Meeting in 2007 of its precursor, the Australian Association for Research in Music Education (AARME). In turn, AARME was established at the Annual General Meeting, held in Newcastle in August 1995, of its precursor, the Assocation of Music Education Lecturers (AMEL). The Association of Music Education Lecturers was established in 1977.

The XXXIst Conference of the Australia New Zealand Association for Research in Music Education (ANZARME) Conference will be held as part of the first New Zealand Research in Music Education Conference (being organisesd by the Music Education Research Centre, National Centre for Research in Music Education & Sound Arts, School of Music, University of Canterbury) at the Boat Shed, Akaroa, Banks Peninsula, New Zealand, from July 406, 2009.

MUSIC IN PRIMARY TEACHER EDUCATION COURSES 2005

As a contribution to the data required for the National Review of School Music Education (2004-05), AARME undertook a mapping of curriculum content in music in primary teacher education courses offered in Australian universities.
