Early Childhood Mentoring Program

DEECD: Pilot State-wide Professional Mentoring Program for Early Childhood Teachers

The Victorian Government Purchasing Board has approved the engagement of a consortium of Victoria University (VU)  and Deakin University to deliver a Pilot State Wide Professional Mentoring Program for Early Childhood Teachers.
It will be a $1.2 million program to deliver a pilot Early Childhood Mentoring program to 180 Early Childhood teachers in each of two years (2011 and 2012), and also run a training program for 36 mentors in both years. In delivering the program, the VU/Deakin Consortium will be coordinating closely with both the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development and the Victorian Institute of Teaching. The project includes substantial research and evaluation  components that will inform the development of future mentoring programs for early childhood teachers in Victoria.
The Deakin Team includes Anne-Marie Morrissey (Project Co-Director and Deakin Team Leader), Sarah Ohi,  Liz Rouse, Louise Laskey, and Brian Doig.
