Influencing the development of primary teaching in Malaysia

The Deakin Bachelor of Primary Education (Science) and the Bachelor of Primary Education (Mathematics) was offered in Malaysia as part of the Malaysian Government project to reintroduce the teaching of mathematics and science in English.

This 2006-2010 project has successfully concluded.

About the project:

• Deakin and Malaysia Ministry of Education
• A four year project 2006 to 2010
• Malaysian staff trained to co-teach with Deakin staff
• Deakin units expressly prepared for the project
• In 2010 200 students graduated as Bachelor of Primary Education (Mathematics)
• Deakin staff have continued to collaborate with Malaysian staff in research projects
