Working With Children Check (WWCC)

Working with Children Check Logo, Victoria, Australia.

The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (Victoria) requires all student teachers to hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC) before being allowed to undertake placement in schools/ educational workplaces in Victoria.
WWCC cards are valid for five years and pre-service teachers will not be allowed to complete placement if they cannot produce a WWCC card, or a WWCC application receipt, on arrival at the school/educational workplace (and as requested thereafter). Failure to comply with these requirements will jeopardise a student's enrolment in the course.

If You Already Have A WWC Check Card
If a pre-service teacher already has a WWCC, this check may be used for professional experience purposes. A clear copy of the card must be provided to Deakin University Professional Experience Office. See below details of where to lodge this information.
As Deakin University Professional Experience Office must be added to the list of organisations to be notified with the Department of Justice, you will need to update this information in the following website: http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au
