Professional Experience

Information for students:

We invite all students to visit the offices and talk to us about their queries or concerns in relation to professional experience or contact us by phone or email. Please come and have a chat and say hello. In each office we have several staff members who look after each cohort of students in each course. Please come and introduce yourself to the relevant placement officer.

Placements in schools are made by the Professional Experience Office, within 60 minutes of a student's term address. Students are requested NOT to approach schools or centres to organise their own teaching practice.

Each year we run information sessions for each course cohort and we ask that you all keep a lookout for these sessions and ensure your attendance.

For current students:

• Education students currently enrolled in practicum units will be able to access the practicum database, InPlace, to access their school or centre placement information: https://placements.deakin.edu.au/InPlace/. You will be asked to log on to the database approximately 2 week prior to commencement of your placement.

• Additional resources to support current students can be found on your practicum unit's CloudDeakin site

• The practicum database, InPlace, runs separately from the University system. If you need to change your address you need to inform your Placement Officer ASAP and also update this on Student Connect - https://studentconnect.deakin.edu.au/connect/webconnect
