This study investigated the ways in which Deakin teacher education students who were placed in schools with an ethnically diverse working-class student population made sense of and worked with 'difference' in terms of the ethnicity and socio economic status of their students. The participants in this research were eight third year Melbourne Burwood Campus, Second Methods teacher education students.
