"When I first began with Red Stitch I could only dream of being part of such a company. I never would have thought that a few months down the track I would be a valued part of their team! At the beginning of my internship, I was interested to observe the ways that the company functions; I wanted to experience all facets of the company. I was especially interested to understand how the company operates in such a highly collaborative environment. When I began the role as box office supervisor, I wanted to become a familiar face within the company. I wanted to have my own special little place in Red Stitch and for people to expect and rely upon me. Looking back now I realise that I have found everything that I initially searched for. I feel at home in this theatre and I am continuing to learn the fine details in regards to our operating methods. I answer the phone and am greeted with familiar customers, VIP, directors, actors and the like. The company and crew vocalise their support and appreciation for the dedication that I offer and I am just as appreciative in return. Alongside this I have made many friendships, including with directors, actors and production personnel. It is impossible to explain the extent of my growth that has been triggered by this company. I stumbled across such a rare opportunity; an opportunity that many accomplished artists would strive for – one I would have never imagined I was capable of.
