The objective of the Environment Protection and Heritage Council (EPHC) is to ensure the protection of the environment and heritage of Australia and New Zealand. The members of the EPHC are Ministers, not necessarily environment Ministers, from participating jurisdictions (ie. Commonwealth, State and Territory Governments, the New Zealand Government, and the Papua New Guinea Government). The links section of this site is a good resource for potential internships.

Advit Foundation is a non-government development organization based in Gurgaon, India working for Environmental Conservation and Livelihood Enhancement. Advit seeks to empower the industry and communities through various viable options for sustainable development. It provides a platform for skill enhancement, capacity building and natural resource conservation through participatory approaches.

Australian Youth for Climate Change (AYCC) http://aycc.org.au/
The AYCC is entirely youth-run. They represent more than 30 of Australia’s largest youth organisations and over 57,000 individual members. By educating, inspiring and mobilising young people across the country, they aim to solve the climate crisis.

Friends of the Earth Melbourne (FoE) http://www.melbourne.foe.org.au/
Friends of the Earth Melbourne believes that social and environmental issues cannot be separated from each other. As a result, FoE is a social and environmental justice organisation. FoE Australia is the national member of FoE International, which is now active in 77 countries. FoE Melbourne offers internships under the “Get Active” section of the website. Other international city and national offices advertise on their respective sites.

Global Green USA is the American Arm of Green Cross International (GCI), which was created by President Mikhail S. Gorbachev to foster a global value shift toward a sustainable and secure future by reconnecting humanity with the environment. Global Green advertise numerous internships under the Jobs section.

Greenpeace is the largest independent direct-action environmental organization in the world.  Greenpeace international offers internships based in The Netherlands from the above website. National offices also advertise internships from their respective sites.

ICLEI- Local Governments for Sustainability http://www.iclei.org/index.php?id=iclei-home
ICLEI is an international association of local governments as well as national and regional local government organizations who have made a commitment to sustainable development. ICLEI provides technical consulting, training, and information services to build capacity, share knowledge, and support local government in the implementation of sustainable development at the local level.
Location: ICLEI is a Global organisation with the World Secretariat in Germany and offices in numerous regions.

Sustainable Cities International is a registered not-for-profit organization based in Vancouver, Canada. Operating since 1993, the mission of Sustainable Cities is to catalyze action on urban sustainability with cities around the world. They work by connecting and mobilizing people through the process of co-creating.

World Wildlife Fund (WWF) http://www.worldwildlife.org/home-full.html
WWF is the world’s leading conservation organization. WWF works in 100 countries and is supported by 1.2 million members in the United States and close to 5 million globally. Internship opportunities are advertised yearly, as well as a small number of fellowships.
