A master class and seminar series with a focus on Animation.
The 3rd Salon features 'Comedy Doctor' Catherine Deveny, Melbourne comedy performer and writer
'Writing for Comedy' should be fun - but it's not so easy! So what makes 'good' (or 'bad') comedy?
Catherine will not only talk about the industry and her extensive experience working in stand up and writing comedy, but also offer her services as 'Comedy Doctor' in this Salon.
Catherine invites students (and staff) to discuss their specific projects and ideas. All questions, ideas, problems and examples are welcome: the more examples to compare and workshop, the better! This 'Writing for Comedy' Salon workshop is a unique opportunity for students of Film, Animation, Game Design, Dance and Drama to examine their own material, and for all participants to ask comedy-specific questions in relation to the genres and disciplines in which their creative practices unfold.
So come prepared with a brief example of something you would like to develop further.
