Four films made in ACC316 Major Film Project and ACC716 Major Film and Video Project in 2009 were screened at the BMW Edge Theatre on 27 September 2010 evening as part of Box Hill Institute’s Centre for Creative Industries program celebrating their recent achievements.
The films 45 RPM, Viva la Revolution, Life Insurance and World’s Greatest Dad were screened at Melbourne's Federation square.
In a unique collaboration between Box Hill Institute and Deakin University, composers from Box Hill Institute created the musical scores for these films which were produced in Trimester 2 in 2009, the scripts having been written in ACC307 Developing a Project: Ideas to Scripts in Trimester 1.
Not only is the screening a recognition of the high quality of these films, but also an acknowledgement of the success and value of this collaboration between composers from Box Hill and filmmakers from Deakin.
This collaboration is also taking place again this trimester with another batch of Deakin films in ACC316 and ACC716.
The value of a collaborative experience such as this cannot be under estimated and will no doubt be a tremendous advantage to those students as they take their place in the industry.
