| Teaching responsibilities | I am currently coordinating ALL202, Literary Modernisms B, at the Burwood campus, and co-teaching Australian Literature with Lyn McCredden. | |
| Research interests | I have a background in literary and cultural studies, with a particular interest in literatures of the environment, postcolonial literatures, and environmental cultural studies. I have published widely in these broad fields, with a particular focus on questions of place and place-making, belonging, environmental and critical theory, and political ecology. | |
| Current research projects |
I am currently completing a major study of the social and political life of bottled water (ARC Discovery), with Gay Hawkins and Kane Race. Our book, 'Plastic Water', will be published by MIT press in 2013. I am undertaking a three year ARC Linkage project (with Janet McGaw, Anoma Pieris anad Graham Brawn) on the politics of constructing Indigenous cultural centres in Australia. A book of this project, 'Assembling the Centre', will be published by Routledge in 2014. I am currently working on my monograph, 'Fieldnotes on Belonging: The politics of place in contemporary Australia', which will be published by Intellect in 2013. |
