Role and profile Deborah Walker is a lecturer in the visual arts and has exhibited regularly in Australia and internationally. She is currently represented by Andrew Baker Gallery, Brisbane and Hill-Smith Fine Art, Adelaide. Her work is represented in Australian and international collections.
Her research is concerned with the intersection of art and philosophy, particularly the relationship of enigma and the ideas of the metaphysical painter, Giorgio de Chirico within a Nietzchean perspective.

Research interests The Italian metaphysical painter Giorgio de Chirico's and his relationship with the Philosophical ideas of Nietzsche, particularly in connection to visual enigma and the metaphysical.
Graphic imagery, particularly intaglio and lithography.
Cinema and its reference to the painted image.
Current research projects A series of paintings reflecting the metaphysical significance of the objects that populate our lives
