| Research interests | My research interests focus on the policy dimensions of sustainability and the uptake of science in coastal zone management. For my PhD I investigated the politics of 'sustainability', using recent experience in Victoria as a case study. In this I explored how the discourses of neoliberalism and ecological modernisation shaped sustainability policy making in ways that constrained the potential for transformative change. I previously worked for 17 years in a variety of environmental policy and planning roles within the Victorian public sector. |
| Current research projects | My current research focuses on investigating the uptake of science in coastal management, as part of a national project funded by the CSIRO. |
