Research interests My research interests focus on the policy dimensions of sustainability and the uptake of science in coastal zone management. For my PhD I investigated the politics of 'sustainability', using recent experience in Victoria as a case study. In this I explored how the discourses of neoliberalism and ecological modernisation shaped sustainability policy making in ways that constrained the potential for transformative change. I previously worked for 17 years in a variety of environmental policy and planning roles within the Victorian public sector.
Current research projects My current research focuses on investigating the uptake of science in coastal management, as part of a national project funded by the CSIRO.
