Role and profile Dr Michele Lobo is an Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Centre for Citizenship and Globalisation.
Teaching responsibilities None at present. Previously held teaching positions at the School of Geography and Environmental Science, Monash University (2010-2011) and Loreto College, Calcutta University, India (1984-2000)

Current research projects In 2011, Dr Lobo was awarded the prestigious Alfred Deakin Postdoctoral Fellowship. She is conducting a pilot project titled, Exploring Intercultural Encounters in the Darwin-Palmerston Urban Area. The project focuses on multi-sensory experiences of meeting places.
Awards Australian Postgraduate Award (2002-2005)for Doctoral Research. The award is given by the Australian Government to postgraduate students of exceptional research promise.
