| Role and profile |
Deputy Director, Centre for Citizenship and Globalisation Associate Prof Paradies conducts internationally recognised research on the health, social and economic effects of racism as well as anti-racism theory, policy and practice. He has authored 89 publications including 54 peer-reviewed articles/book chapters. A/Prof Paradies has delivered 158 presentations (41 international), including 89 invited presentations (6 international) as well as 27 guest lectures and 7 invited keynotes. He is an investigator on 14 current and 17 completed grants (13 as CIA) worth over $13.4 million as well as an invited reviewer for 31 peer-reviewed journals. A/Prof Paradies is a grant assessor/reviewer for the NHMRC, ARC and NZ Health Research Council as well as serving on NHMRC fellowship and grant review panels. He currently (co)supervises 5 PhD students and has supervised 4 students to completion. As of April 2013, A/Prof Paradies had 1,124 citations across all publications (with a h index of 17). A/Prof Paradies’ work has been published in the highest ranking journals of several disciplines, including: Social Science and Medicine, International Journal of Epidemiology, Ethnic and Racial Studies and Analyses of Social Issues and Public Policy. |
