Finance

Why study finance?

Finance is all about decision making. Do I buy or sell, do I invest in this or that, do I borrow here or there? Every minute of every day somewhere around the world finance specialists will be making these decisions. These specialists might work in banking, portfolio management, foreign exchange dealing, stockbroking, superannuation and the list goes on.

The finance marketplace is becoming a global marketplace. Not only do the products that are traded in these markets move around the world so too do the people that trade them.

Career opportunities

The program is designed to equip graduates for entry into the finance and investment areas in business organisations and firms in the finance industry or government sector. A wide range of career paths in Australia and internationally is open to finance graduates ranging from those who depend on people skills (such as client accountant managers) to those who depend on technical skills (such as security analysts or dealers). Typically, finance graduates work in stockbroking firms, financial institutions, manufacturing businesses and in government among others. The opportunities for graduates with a finance discipline are exciting.
