Josh Bevan discusses how he organised his internship opportunity.
play/pause toggleWhile I was looking for an internship I applied for some vacation work with some of the big organisations such as NAB, Westpac but I wasn't successful there so I started door knocking as I really wanted to do an internship and thought it would be beneficial for industry experience.
I went around door knocking with my resume and dressed up in a suit and a tie. I went around to the banks in Geelong which is where I live asking to speak to the business departments seeing whether they would take on an intern, they said they had no program for that so I then went around to the financial planners looking for an internship with them.
I basically just went on the internet and yellow pages and looked at the best websites to see who had the most staff to see if they would have the capacity to take on an intern and that's pretty much how I did it. I door knocked and looked on the internet and my internship was given to me there on the spot with Planwell Financial Group.
