ABW Selection

Apart from a few scholarships, students are selected on the basis of:

  • academic merit
  • written teacher assessment
  • ability to be part of a team
  • written statements about career aspirations, business activities and interests
  • equity (we seek a balance according to gender, city and country and independent and government schools).

If you have an enterprising and innovative mind, are capable of lateral thinking and able to work under pressure to achieve team goals you are not only brilliant but you must speak to your ABW Coordinator or your careers teacher about ABW. Some schools run a selection process to select the ONE student for nomination.

The 60 successful students who gain a place in Australian Business Week will be awarded a $2000 bursary to cover: accomodation and meals at the Deakin Management Centre; full program costs; and a certificate of completion. Students accepted into the program will incur a personal commitment of a non-refundable fee of $308. The only other costs are those for personal incidentals eg faxes, phone calls, coloured pencils, textas (for trade display) etc.
