Professional Recognition

The Financial Planning Association (FPA) has accredited the Deakin Bachelor of Commerce (major in financial planning) as an approved degree for entry into the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERŪ education program, an important part of the requirements to become a CFP professional. (CFP Certification Program FPA Approved List).

Regulator

Regulatory Guideline 146 (RG146) is issued by ASIC and sets out the minimum training standards for people who provide financial product advice to retail clients. RG146 contains a number of training competencies which are related to the areas in which advice is given. Individual units in the Deakin Bachelor of Commerce satisfy particular competencies within RG146. See ASIC website.
