Deakin Think Tank Challenge

The sixth annual Deakin Think Tank Challenge was held on Wednesday 07 September  2011 at the Burwood Campus. The highly successful event was attended by participating students, their family and friends, university staff, prospective employers and representatives of professional bodies.

Congratulations are extended to all participants and in particular to the 2011 Deakin Think Tank Challenge winners.

The Deakin Think Tank Challenge is a joint initiative between the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance, Faculty of Business and Law and the Deakin Commerce Society. Generously sponsored by the Institute of Internal Auditors Australia and KPMG, three finalist teams competed for prizes worth over $4,000.

The business scenario topic was "Michael Dell – A Leadership Case Study – Does leadership matter?" and required the teams to work under time constraints to develop a creative and innovative response and present it to a panel of judges. Chief judge Pro Vice-Chancellor, Faculty of Business & Law, Gael McDonald was joined by representatives from the Institute of Internal Auditors Australia and KPMG as well as academic staff who provided positive feedback regarding the presentations and in particular the overall professionalism of the event. That positive view was shared by the participants and audience who also felt the competition was interesting and instructive.
