Finance International Study Program 2009

Please note that the above program has been cancelled for 2009 due to lack of student numbers and the current crisis in international financial markets.

Previous students participating in the program have visited a range of corporations, financial institutions and financial markets with presentations from senior representatives in these organisations, including:

  • Deloitte – forensic accounting and finance
  • Linklaters – managing the finance office of a legal firm
  • ABB – treasury operations within a global engineering company; included a visit to the factory floor
  • Barcelona Stock Exchange – the role of a stock exchange in the capital markets
  • La Caixa Bank – the Spanish banking market and the impact of European Union; plus a visit to the bank’s treasury dealing room and a talk on treasury operations
  • UNISYS – securing the business benefits of globalisation
  • Reuters – the role of information providers in the financial markets
  • Bank of England – the role of a central bank and monetary policy
  • ANZ Investment Bank – issuing Kangaroo bonds into the capital markets
  • ING Bank – leveraged finance; structured finance; syndicated finance

This type of international study program provides students with the opportunity to experience the places, peoples and cultures that we visit as well as the finacial and business machinations.
