International Study Tour 2011-12
The School of AEF is offering an unique opportunity to travel and study in Trimester 3 2011-12. The AEF International Study Tour offers a truncated summer teaching period of study in November/December and 3 weeks of international travel in January/February 2012, visiting key financial organisations and corporations in Paris, London, Dubai, Prague, Munich and Vienna.
The International Study Tour is offered to all students in the Faculty of Business & Law. To participate you need to fill in an application form and do a minimum of one unit of study, but up to three from the following units:
Undergraduate students:
MAF306 International Finance and Investment
MAF302 Corporate Finance
Postgraduate students:
MAF760 International Finance
MAF703 Applied Corporate Finance
The study program is offered intensively during November 8 – Dec 8, 2011. The assessment will consist of an exam 60% (Dec 2011), intelligence report 10%, participation in visits 10% and final report 20%, which is due in February 2012 after completion of the tour.

"The AEF International Study Tour was a great success . . . we have gained exposure to and understanding of other markets and different cultures. This helps us to better understand the theory that we have been taught through the years of study, and develop a better understanding of how some institutions conduct their business both at a micro and macro-economic level. In addition, having spent time in different countries and cultures, we gained a better awareness of opportunities that are present. Visiting central banks and other international organisations, where some presentations were tailored specifically to better educate us, made this a great investment in our future professional lives."
