Shiraz completed a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Commerce (MCom) with a specialization in eBusiness at Deakin.

Shiraz was an exceptionally active member of the student community whilst at Deakin. In addition to serving as the Treasurer of the Deakin Business School Society, Shiraz also served the Academic Programs Committee and was a member of the MBA Advisory Board. In addition, Shiraz also played an active role supporting the Faculty's "fellow student" mentoring program.

Since graduation, Shiraz has worked at the Department of Sustainability and Environment and the Department of Primary Industries, within the Victorian Government. Shiraz's current role is that of a Project Officer within the Knowledge and Information Technology Division part of the Department of Primary Industries.

Shiraz's contribution to the Deakin Commerce Alumni Chapter

Shiraz has been an exceptionally active member of the Deakin alumni community since graduation supporting various University support and profile enhancement events in particular. Amongst various initiatives, Shiraz has served as a panel member at Deakin Business School graduate information sessions and Faculty of Business & Law Careers Week events, assisting students make an effective transition from student life to the workforce.

Over the last 12 months, Shiraz has also been actively involved with the organization of the Chapter's networking events and has been central to the organization of all 3 of the Chapter's networking events in 2010, each of which have enjoyed excellent attendance levels and have grown the Chapter's member base.

James Osenaris has been involved in the Deakin Commerce Alumni since its creation in 2008 and has been an active member as Champion of Profile Enhancement in 2008 and took an active role in 2009-2010 in setting up the mentoring program for the Alumni.

James graduated from Balwyn High School in 2002, where he was School Captain in his final year. At Deakin, James studied a Bachelor of Commerce (majoring in Marketing/Finance) and was also President of the Deakin Commerce Society in 2005, and in his time was able to increase membership and also internal/external profile for the society.

Currently James works as a National Account Manager for HJ Heinz Australia, which is a US Global Food Manufacturer. Prior to Heinz, James spent 3 years at L'Oreal Australia, which is a global cosmetics company and worked in a number of sales/marketing roles.

James has been actively involved in Deakin since graduation and through the alumni has been able to deliver some key presentations to undergraduate students on a number of topics. James is passionate about leadership, public speaking and also mentoring.

The challenge of Vice Presidency in 2010 is something that James sees as an honour and one that he is looking forward to in 2011.

Deakin University acknowledges the traditional land owners of present campus sites.
