Commercial Law

In today's highly regulated business climate, there is high demand for graduates with commercial law expertise. Deakin's commercial law courses are designed for those who have an interest in business law and those who wish to learn more about specific areas of law, particularly within Australia.

Our Master of Commercial Law (MComLaw) aims to extend your understanding of commercial law in areas such as:

  • competition law and policy
  • corporate governance
  • corporations law
  • electronic and financial crime
  • environmental law
  • intellectual property
  • law and the internet
  • labour law
  • law for managers
  • marketing law
  • sport and the law

Why choose Deakin?

At an undergraduate level, a commercial law specialisation can be studied through the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom). Deakin's BCom is internationally recognised and EPAS accredited by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). EPAS is an international quality benchmark for business programs worldwide. Deakin is the only Australian university with EPAS accreditation for its Bachelor of Commerce.

Career opportunities

Career opportunities for commercial law experts exist in private and public companies, government bodies and public services. Studies in Commercial Law will complement a career in accounting, finance, or real estate.
