Human resource (HR) management is no longer the sole responsibility of a special department. Our HR management course will provide you with the skills and knowledge required for HR development and management roles.
Areas covered include: recruitment, training and development, workplace diversity, employee relations, performance, change management and remuneration.
Why choose Deakin?
At an undergraduate level, a HR management specialisation can be studied through the Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) and at a postgraduate level a HR management specialisation can be studied through the Deakin MBA. Both the Deakin MBA and BCom are internationally recognised and EPAS accredited by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). EPAS is an international quality benchmark for business programs worldwide. Deakin is the only Australian university with EPAS accreditation for its Bachelor of Commerce.
Furthermore Deakin's Master of Master of Human Resource Management is accredited by the Australian Human Resource Institute.

Living in WA and studying at Deakin didn't phase Jamie Craigie one bit. 'My qualifications are a mix of TAFE and Deakin,' he says. 'I tell my TAFE students that their career will take them to places they never dream of. If someone had told me five years ago that I would be doing this job, I would never have believed it.'
Jamie's list of professional roles is as long as that of his qualifications. He has been an administration officer, accounting officer, payroll officer and payroll manager. After entering the HR industry, he performed as an adviser, senior adviser, manager and director, before taking up his current position as HR lecturer in 2009.
Deakin's relationship with the Australian HR Institute (AHRI) made it the logical choice for his online study. The course content and its structure were both to his liking, Jamie says. 'It was easy to follow, the structure was good and there was good integration between theory and practice.'
