What is Personal Injury Management?

Deakin's Personal Injury Management postgraduate programs are designed to provide future leaders with the skills and attributes to improve the performance and management of every facet of Accident Compensation Schemes across Australia and New Zealand.

Working with the Personal Injury Education Foundation (PIEF), Deakin University has developed a suite of part-time postgraduate programs available to people interested or employed in the personal injury sector, including professionals in allied health; behavioural health; injury management and rehabilitation insurance; occupational health and safety; dispute resolution; and accident compensation regulators. The programs are delivered via residential and distance learning.

On completion of the program students should be able to:

• understand the central concepts and literature in the personal injury and claims management field,
• undertake critical analysis of personal injury issues using multidisciplinary perspectives,
• demonstrate enhanced breadth and depth of claims management skills within the personal injury sector, and
• understand and use the tools and frameworks needed to improve outcomes for accident compensation schemes.

All enrolments for these programs are managed through DeakinPrime, the corporate arm of Deakin University.
