What is Sport Management?

Sport Management equips students with the business skills required in the sport industry. In response to the demand for effective managers in sport, and the recognition of the importance of the business of sport to Australia, Deakin's Sport Management course provides a broad business degree coupled with specialist knowledge in sport management. Students can also broaden their knowledge across a range of other areas including management, marketing, finance, economics, information systems and law.

Career Opportunities

Career opportunities in sport management have expanded considerably in the past ten years. Sports including Australian football, basketball, cricket, tennis and golf, plus national and state sporting organisations all require professionally trained people. In addition, there is a need for qualified people to manage facilities catering for sport from a local level through to facilities hosting national and international competition.
