Fresh coffee and his experience as a international student inspired Gourav Neogy to establish two online businesses.
Before coming to Deakin University, I worked as a commodities trader in India. This background and my recent degrees have provided the expertise to form Chaoz Coffee. The concept of Chaoz Coffee is to order online - your coffee is roasted to order and posted to you within 24 hours. The venture is still small scale as I believe in tweaking the product and supply chain before allowing it to grow bigger.
My experience as an international student, gave me the idea for my other venture. Once you’ve arrived and enrolled in your course, you need to find a place to stay, furniture, a car …. essentially, you have to rebuild your entire life from scratch, all within a few days! You don’t have a job, or much money and, for some, things are confusing and very alien. This inspired me to create ooktion.com, a students online marketplace. It’s something I would have found very helpful when I arrived here.
This venture is more than just slapping up a website and waiting for everything to take off. There has been careful planning and astute preparation. One aspect we are vigilant about from the outset is fraud prevention, and to provide a safe trading environment. One of the unique features offered is that of an online dispute resolution system - where buyers and sellers resolve their differences through a neutral third party mediator appointed by ooktion.com.
