Deakin University's Master of Commerce degree is a professional business qualification that builds on an undergraduate qualification in any discipline. This degree gives students a sound understanding of business in addition to undergraduate qualifications in other professional areas. The Master of Commerce is suitable for graduates in diverse fields who are looking for further knowledge in contemporary business issues.

The Master of Commerce requires three trimesters of full-time study or the equivalent. In addition to the four compulsory core units (Accounting, Economics for Managers, Finance and Business Process Management), a range of postgraduate units are available for students to choose from. The range of specialisations allows students to develop their prior knowledge and skills and to pursue their own career aspirations. Students who complete an appropriate range of units in this program may satisfy the professional recognition requirements of CPA Australia, the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia, the Institute of Certified Management Accountants or the Australian Computer Society.

The program offers great flexibility. There are early exit options at both Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate levels. Students may study their course on campus at the Melbourne Burwood Campus, by distance education or in a combination of the two. It is supported by seminars, presentations, high quality distance learning materials and by electronic conferencing on the internet to encourage collaborative learning in small groups.

The Master of Commerce offers an excellent way to start your business career.
