Peter Evans (1998)
General Manager, Education Technology at Editure
Peter has 28 years experience in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector including the last three years in ICT for the Education sector. This experience spans a range of roles and industry segments. His roles have included general management, commercial and project portfolio management, governance management, consulting, strategy definition, product management, systems engineering, international standards and research.
He currently manages the education software business for the Technology Division of Editure, an Australian-owned company headquartered in Melbourne and providing education solutions, software, services and training to the global K-12 education market. He leads a team of 40 employees with an annual revenue target of several million $Australian. The business supplies customers in Australia, New Zealand, the USA and the UK. Peter has overall accountability for client satisfaction, employee engagement and financial performance. Peter is a member of management committee for the e-Learning Industry Association of Victoria and is currently Secretary/Treasurer of the Association.
Peter holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical & Electronic, 1st Class Honours) from the University of Adelaide and an MBA (Technology Management) from Deakin University, for which he won the BHP Steel Prize for the Best 1999 MBA Graduate from the Deakin / APESMA program. He also completed a Graduate Certificate of Business (Sport Management) from Deakin University in 2007. Peter is a member of the Editorial Panel of the Deakin Business Review, chairs the Advisory Board for Deakin's Graduate School of Business and is a member of the Advisory Board for Deakin's School of Information Systems. Peter is also a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Outside work, Peter enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter. He is active in his church community and is a founding member of the Knox Council Inter-faith Network, for which he is currently Secretary and web manager. He enjoys good food and wine, is known as a dedicated supporter of the Adelaide Crows and has recently developed an interest in short film-making.
