Insurance, Risk Management

Deakin University offers a postgraduate Master of Insurance and Risk Management course in off-campus (distance education) mode. This course satisfies the educational requirements of the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) Fellowship award; and to satisfies the requirements in relation to the relevant competencies of Australian Securities Investment Commission (ASIC) Policy Statement PS146.

Entry to the Master of Insurance and Risk Management requires a four year undergraduate degree (or equivalent), or a three year undergraduate degree (or equivalent) and a minimum of three years of professional or managerial experience in finance, insurance, financial planning, superannuation or related industries

Those holding an undergraduate degree are eligible to apply for the Graduate Certificate. Students seeking Fellowship of the ANZIIF through this course should first apply to the ANZIIF for acceptance into its Graduate Entry Program. Those who do not hold an undergraduate qualification but who are Senior Associates of the ANZIIF and have a minimum of five years professional experience in the insurance industry may apply.

Course structure

The Master of Insurance and Risk Management requires the completion of eight credit points over 1 year or part time equivalent.
