MPI701 Business Practicum Program
Unit Content and Selection Criteria
The content of the unit is primarily the practicum itself. Students draw heavily on the core competencies that are developed in the compulsory core units of their studies as well as the specialist units undertaken as electives.
Before seeking permission to enrol in a practicum unit, students should be aware of the following selection criteria for the Business Practicum unit.
Students must have:
- Substantially progressed in their MBA course, having successfully completed at least 6 MBA or MBA International units
- Achieved a consistent record of good academic performance in the course
- Demonstrated commitment and ability to complete the practicum project.
In addition to negotiating a relevant project and documenting the practicum arrangements, a major component of the assessment will be the completion by the student of:
- A project proposal and work plan
- A Progress Report summarising the student’s experiences and observations after the first 6 weeks of experience at the host organisation and;
- A Final Report negotiated between the student and the host organisation then approved by the Unit Chair.
