Workshop for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (WOFIE)
Group Presentations
Around fifty students from different faculties registered and attended the inaugural WOFIE event. Students were placed in teams with mixed disciplinary backgrounds. Each student group was given a business challenge. During the week, the groups worked on developing solutions for their particular sustainability challenges. Student groups were mentored by Deakin University staff and alumni. At the end of the week each student group presented their ideas to a panel of judges with extensive experience in the areas of innovation and entrepreneurship. The presentations were of a very high standard (presentations can be viewed by clicking on the links). The winning teams received prizes: first prize $6,000, second prize $3,000 and third prize $1,000.
