Why study the Bachelor of Business Information Systems?

Almost all jobs use some form of Information Systems or Information Technology for business processes and management, creative output or communication. The Bachelor of Business Information Systems (BBIS) is designed to provide students with essential business skills as well as developing expertise in Information Systems to achieve specialist career roles in corporate businesses and government. In addition to specialist studies in Information Systems students can also elect to undertake a major within the Faculty of Business and Law.

Professional Recognition

On completion of the Bachelor of Business Information Systems, graduates will have satisfied requirements for professional membership of the Australian Computer Society (ACS).

Course Structure

The BBIS is a course of study amounting to 24 credit points. Students must complete 8 credit points of core Information Systems units, 4 credit points of core Commerce units, 4 credit points of Information Systems electives and 8 credit points of electives which 4 credit points must be from the Faculty of Business and Law and 2 credit points of which must be at Level 3. It is also possible for students to complete a major sequence as part of the degree.
