Accounting Information Systems

What is it?

Accounting Information Systems is the use of information systems in an accounting context. It looks at the interaction between information and communications technologies and the formal systems of financial control required by business. It reflects the central importance of accounting information in information systems processes and requirements in a business framework.

Why study it?

It equips students with an understanding of the complexities of managing and auditing business systems which rely on information and communications technology. Students will benefit from a deeper understanding of accounting systems when designing and implementing business systems.
