Business Aspects of Information Systems (BASIS) Research Cluster

The BASIS cluster conducts research on how organisations implement and derive business value from the application of contemporary information and communication technologies and systems (ICT). This includes emerging business value propositions, given the nature of the organisation's business, business model, strategy, and ever-changing business environment.

BASIS conducts research in the context of different types of organisations, varying in size (small, medium and large), economic sector (public, private, not-for-profit), and in different industries. The broader research agenda centres on the dynamics of the competitive business landscape, and how this evolves over time, incorporating novel thinking in terms of business models, competitive strategy, and the role of ICTs in business value generation. The research encompasses all aspects related to the broader agenda of the link between ICT and Business, including innovation, implementation, improved leveraging and securing of firm resources, analytics, business process optimisation, organisational best practice and corporate social responsibility.
