Information Security, Privacy & Ethics (iSPER) Group

The iSPER group is dedicated to continuing an insightful research dialogue surrounding the impacts of security, privacy and ethics on technology use, information management and associated/support system operations. We aim to nurture an inclusive research culture that builds connections enabling a deeper understanding of the interaction and strategic engagement issues for business organisations, governments, individuals and the wider Australian community.

At the heart of the iSPER group are the following core values:

  1. To undertake research with integrity, trust and confidentiality.
  2. To determine insightful and applicable research outcomes.
  3. To provide relevance and contextual meaning in a changing world.

The iSPER group is led by Professor Matthew Warren and is located in the School of Information Systems at Deakin University. We undertake ongoing research and consultancy work related to the implications of emergent information security, cyber security, privacy and ethical issues for organisations, people and the community; including the subsequent interactions of people and technology.

If you are interested in pursuing further discussions, including consultative research projects or postgraduate (Honours or Doctoral) research, please contact us at iSPER to discuss these and further opportunities.
