Current research projects:
  • I am currently examining the work of Polish philosopher Roman Ingarden, and developing a method for applying his analysis. This method will then be applied to information systems journals to develop an ontologically sound categorial scheme. The initial motivation for the conduct of this research was to provide a categorial scheme for use in the Index of Information Systems Journals of which I am the author. None of the existing schemes are appropriate, current or soundly structured. The importance of the work extends beyond that to other areas eg the ARC research grants program which does not have an adequate categorial scheme and to using the method, when proven, in other domains for the development of categorial schemes based on semantic content of literature
Research awards:
  • 2008 - Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Faculty of Business and Law's Operational Plan for Research and Research Training.
