Welcome to the website for the Deakin Law School. In it you will find information about our staff and their research, our undergraduate and postgraduate coursework degrees, and our higher degrees by research. You can also learn about events such as our China and Europe Study Programs.
Deakin’s LLB degree has a strong commercial focus, with an international orientation, enabling Deakin law graduates to undertake legal work in a wide range of settings whether in Australia or abroad.
The Practical Legal Skills program equips graduates with the knowledge, skills and attributes to practice law while the Professional Work Experience requirement enriches their legal education. Deakin law graduates emerge with a broad technical competency, a specialisation in commercial law and an appreciation of how the law operates in practice.
Our postgraduate programs reflect our commitment to being a significant centre for teaching and research in commercial law and our commitment to giving students a broad understanding of the commercial and corporate environment.
Our staff have wide-ranging research interests. Many have come to academia from professional practice ensuring that what we teach is relevant to the needs of professional practice.
