How to apply for the China Study Tour

Please follow these important steps to ensure that your application is complete and valid
1. Application process
Please lodge your application early as places are strictly limited and there is a large expression of interest. To apply you must complete the following steps by Friday 23 March 2012:
- Complete online application form and pay Tour Fee.
Payment can be made by credit card (Mastercard or Visa card only), cash or cheque. Please note if you choose to pay by cash or cheque, your payment is to be received within 7 days of your application. Your place on the Study Tour is not confirmed until full payment is received.
- Once your registration has been lodged, please complete and submit the following travel documentation to Nerida Coghill, Study Tour Coordinator, School of Law, Deakin University, Locked Bag 20000, Geelong, Vic, 3220:
- a recent, compliant passport photo with your name printed on the back
- a certified copy of your passport
- Photograph Consent Form
- a copy of approved Student Overseas Travel Insurance Request
- a copy of your Tourist Visa (once you have it). Reho Travel can organise this when you book your flights with them.
- Apply for OS-HELP Loan if you wish to seek financial assistance (optional).

Due date: Friday 23 March, 2012
Please note: Incomplete applications cannot be processed, which may result in you missing out on a place on the Tour. Full Payment of Study Tour Fee must be received by Friday 23 March 2012.
IMPORTANT: Students who withdraw from the Study Tour after Friday 23 March, 2012 will incur a loss of up to $1400.
2. Tour confirmation
Please do not make any travel arrangements (if you are planning on using your own travel agent) until after you have received confirmation that the tour is proceeding.
3. Travel arrangements and enrolment
- If you wish to use the group travel agent, please complete and return Group Travel Booking Form [123KB PDF] and $500 (non-refundable) deposit to Reho Travel Pty Ltd. Form and payment to be sent directly to Reho Travel.
(It is not a requirement that you travel with the group, however it is highly recommended. Additionally, the higher number of bookings made with the group, the more discounted the flight cost will become. Please read more about the travel arrangements.)
- Make an appointment with Reho Travel to complete your visa application. Contact Jo Walsh or Bianca Giles by email or ph 03 9823 5222. (Reho can also assist students who are not traveling with the group to apply for visas.)
- Enrol in unit MLL344 (undergrad) using StudentConnect. Please enrol in Geelong (Day) for T2. The Tour Coordinator will transfer your enrolment to an overseas unit enrolment later. (Please note: if you are experiencing any difficulty enrolling, please contact a Course Advisor).

Enrolment due date: Thursday 5 April, 2012
IMPORTANT: Students who withdraw from the Study Tour after Thursday 5 April, 2012 will incur a loss of up to $1400 and $500 Group Travel Deposit. (Other travel cancellation fees may also apply.)
4. Confirm travel booking
Balance of group travel booking fee (if applicable) to be paid by Friday 27 April, 2012.
5. Tour Group Information Session
The tentative date for this compulsory Information Session is Wednesday 6 June, 2012 (date, time and venue to be confirmed).
Attendance is compulsory as your travel documents will be distributed and you will receive important travel information.
