The 2011 Deakin Law Oration, on the topic "Legal Basis for U.S. Military Action in International Realm", was delivered by the United States Ambassador to Australia, Jeffrey L Bleich.

This year's tour was a great success. Many students have commented on how the study tour far exceeded their expectations.

During her internship with Harwood Andrews Sarah Murray experienced what it is really like to work in a leading law firm, which is something you can't learn in a classroom.

The School of Law congratulates Dr Allan who has been awarded the 2011 Churchill Fellowship and the 2011 Georgetown University Global Health Law Fellowship.

In June 2011, Deakin Law students attended the inaugural Victorian Women Lawyers and Women Barristers' Association CPD/CLE seminar, held at Deakin Warrnambool.

Several School of Law Staff were acknowledged by being selected to receive a 2011 Vice-Chancellor's Award for Teaching Excellence. The winners were chosen from a strong field of contenders.

Deakin's 2010-11 Vis Moot team has recently returned from the Vis Moot competitions and has achieved some excellent results. The School of Law congratulates the team.
