Marketing

Undergraduate studies in Marketing

Deakin marketing provides you with essential business skills you need to succeed in the workplace. It is also one of the most interesting and exciting areas of study! Marketing is always seeking the latest in new ideas, new technologies and creative thinking.

Marketing began in local markets when farmers came to sell their surplus goods. It has grown mightily since then – but this exchange process remains at its core. It depends on understanding customers, clients and consumers - and knowing how organisations need to be managed to provide value to these groups. Marketing is necessary for all types of organisations – large multi–national corporations, charities, universities, market research companies and small business. The skills you learn at Deakin will therefore be transferable as you build your career and move up from one job to the next. Along the way you will learn about what makes customers tick, the ups and downs of marketing in business life and how to promote the value of what you and your organisation have to offer.
