Professor Gael McDonald, Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Business and Law hosted Deakin University's third London alumni event on Friday 14 June at Quaglino's.
This event provided an opportunity for alumni living in London to network and engage with each other, whilst updating them with current Deakin University news. There were a total of 16 guests in attendance including David Crook, Senior Trade and Investment Commissioner and Minister Counsellor (Commercial) for the Australian Trade Commission and Anne-Marie Kruk, currently working as a Marketing Strategist and recent Dean's Merit List awardee.
Anne-Marie commented, 'What a great group of people! I really have been blown away by Deakin and am very proud to be part of the Deakin community'.
The group thoroughly enjoyed the evening and were inspired to organise future opportunities and coordinate Deakin alumni in the UK. Alumni Valentina Kang, Claire Pendleton and David Crook agreed to lead the project with support from Deakin University's Alumni and External Relations Director, Lynne Lucas.
Valentina Kang said, 'I thoroughly enjoyed myself and having seen a few familiar faces and met like-minded individuals, felt the time is right to start [a] Deakin alumni [chapter]'.
