The Deakin Graduate School of Business' new Master of Leadership focuses on real people, experts in their field, who want to maximise their impact and make a difference in the world. The degree builds on Deakin University's MBA experience to create a postgraduate program that will release your leadership potentional.
We are looking for students from any background already working in leadership positions. High-flyers who need that extra impetus to help them achieve great things. This course is tailored to the individual circumstances of every student.
The Master of Leadership is based on the latest thinking in leadership. It is different to most other Master of Leadership courses; it helps people make a difference to the things that matter. This is not a theoretical or academic course, but a practical one. Building on our expertise in experiential learning, the Master of Leadership is hands-on, exciting, innovative, and memorable.
'We give students a thorough grounding in the main leadership theories. We focus on leadership as a quality of observers, not a quality of leaders,' said Course Director, Professor Jon Billsberry. 'Our goal is to help students understand how leadership perceptions are formed and influenced so that they can develop effective actions that will change how people see them as leaders.'
The emphasis is on learning from experience, through work-based projects and intensive, residential courses that provide a 'hot-house' learning environment.
The Master of Leadership introduces four new units designed specifically for the course:
The degree includes six core subjects, crucial to understanding leadership, and six elective subjects tailored to your needs. You can choose your electives from almost any discipline in the University.
