The Faculty of Business and Law has strong partnerships with leading universities, TAFE institutes, business and professional societies, both onshore and offshore to deliver industry focused programs that meet the demands of employers and students.
Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF)
Deakin and ANZIIF work collaboratively to provide a pathway for ANZIIF students to complete a postgraduate degree in Insurance and Risk Management. Students completing the Master of Insurance and Risk Management at Deakin are recognised as holding significant professional knowledge and may applied to be recognised as a Fellow of ANIIZ, the most prestigious level of Institute membership.
Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia
The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and Deakin University are partnered to provide an opportunity for non-accounting graduates to pursue a career in one of the most rewarding and prestigious professions, chartered accounting.
Personal Injury Education Foundation
The Faculty of Business and Law and the Personal Injury Education Foundation have developed postgraduate coursework degrees in Personal Injury Management. These courses were designed in consultation with consortium members of Australian and New Zealand accident compensation regulators, insurers and claims management organizations to meet the needs of a growing area of professional practice and policy development.
Deakin University and Melbourne Institute of Business and Technology (MIBT) are partnered to provide pathways opportunities for students into undergraduate and postgraduate programs at Deakin. MIBT Diploma courses in Commerce and Management allow eligible students to articulate into a range of Faculty of Business and Law undergraduate courses after a period of fast tracked, highly supportive study at the Geelong or Burwood campuses. Deakin and MIBT are also partner to deliver the Postgraduate Qualifying Program in Business and Law which assists international students achieve the qualifications necessary to enter certain Faculty postgraduate programs.
Box Hill Institute
The Faculty of Business and Law works collaboratively with Box Hill Institute to offer a joint program for students in Tourism Management. The Bachelor of Management/Advanced Diploma of Tourism Management is a concurrent three year undergraduate program for students at the Deakin's and Box Hill's Melbourne campuses. Deakin and Box Hill have also established arrangements for students to gain accelerated entry to Deakin's Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Management based on business studies qualifications completed at Box Hill.
The Gordon TAFE
Deakin University and The Gordon are partnered to provide students with unique opportunities to experience the benefits of vocational and higher education. In response to the growing demand for tourism professionals, the two institutions developed a dual delivered course in Sustainable Tourism Management, offered to interested students in Geelong. Students can gain three qualifications in three years. The Faculty of Business and Law and the Gordon also have various opportunities for students to transfer between the institutions in discipline areas such as Accounting, Business Management, Human Resources, Marketing, Events, Hospitality and Tourism.
Chisholm Institute of TAFE
Deakin University and Chisholm Institute of TAFE collaborate to provide various pathways for students to complete an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification. The Faculty of Business and Law and Chisholm deliver an Associate Degree in Arts, Business and Science as a two year, full time (or part-time) equivalent course which introduces school and non-school leavers to university study in a supported tertiary environment at Chisholm's Dandenong and Mornington Peninsula Campuses. Students who independently graduate from Chisholm courses in areas such as Accounting, Management, Marketing, Frontline Management, Human Resources Management or International Business may be eligible for entry into Deakin's Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Management, with credit for up to 12 subjects. Chisholm and Deakin also provide a pathway for students wishing to undertake postgraduate study in Business Administration or Commerce.
Deakin University and Advance TAFE are partners in the delivery of the Associate Degree in Arts, Business and Science at Advance's Bairnsdale campus. The relationship between Advance and the Faculty of Business and Law also allows eligible students to articulate from Advance's courses in Accounting, Business or Business Administration directly into Deakin's Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Management.
Holmesglen TAFE The Faculty of Business and Law and Holmesglen have varied opportunities for students to transfer between into undergraduate programs in discipline areas such as Accounting, Management, Legal Practice, Public Relations, Human Resources, Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration and Financial Services.
South West TAFE
Deakin University and South West TAFE have worked closely and collaboratively since 1997 to provide programs and services for domestic and international students. Students currently completing a South West course in Accounting, Business, Management, Hospitality, Tourism or Events Management may be eligible for entry into the second year of Deakin's Bachelor of Management. The Faculty of Business and Law also work collaboratively with South West TAFE to deliver an Associate Degree in Arts, Business and Science with a Diploma of Accounting to students in the south west of Victoria, through the Deakin at Your Doorstep program.
Sunraysia Institute of Technical and Further Education
The Faculty of Business and Law and SuniTAFE are partners in the delivery of the Associate Degrees in Arts, Business and Science at SuniTAFE's Swan Hill campus. The relationship between SuniTAFE and the Faculty of Business and Law also allows eligible domestic or international students to articulate from SuniTAFE's wide range of courses directly into Deakin's Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Management or Bachelor of Business Information Systems (as applicable).
The Faculty of Business and Law works in partnership with a range of international partners for the development of academic collaboration in research, teaching and learning as well as student and staff exchange.
