Current student information

Information technology

All students enrolled in the Faculty of Business and Law are required to have access to a computer and Internet connection.

For details on the current minimum computer specifications recommended by Information Technology Services Division for students studying at Deakin University please refer to the recommended computer standards on the ITS (Information Technology Services) website.

Email

All Deakin students are provided with a username and password which provides access to the University's IT services including email account, internet access and library services.

ITS (Information Technology Services) website includes all the information you need to know as a student user of the computer labs, including conditions of use, lab opening times and maps of all the lab locations.

Internet access

There are many conditions on your use of Deakin’s IT facilities, including only using accounts for course-related purposes (in other words, no game playing, no personal surfing, no accessing offensive material). All details of computer activities are recorded through students account log.

It is important that you abide by another of the conditions of use, namely, that you do not divulge your account password to anyone. If you do so and someone uses your account inappropriately, it is your account that will be closed. For full details on the conditions of use you should read the relevant policy.

Deakin University acknowledges the traditional land owners of present campus sites.
