This website provides a virtual tour of the plant where users will 'meet' Visy staff and hear first hand accounts of the operational and communication practices that have led to Visy's success. The Attributes of a Deakin Graduate feature prominently among those factors.

Produced with the assistance of a Strategic Teaching and Learning Grant, this website displays Visy's journey of transformation. It is available as a teaching and learning resource for all units, especially in the Bachelor of Commerce.

Conversations with Industry

Managers from all kinds of organisations walk the line between the theory and practice of management. An ongoing dialogue with industry is one of the best ways to experience the realities that managers confront. Listen to this range of ideas from diverse managers on a suite of key topics to augment your understanding of the challenges.

This project was commissioned by the Bowater Trust and the resources are available for lecturers and students of management to download and use in the pursuit of improved understanding. The application of management theory is truly an art. 'Conversations with Industry' is one powerful way to stay in touch with the artisans who in many cases are expanding the boundaries of a pivotal field of knowledge. The STALGS funded project,'They Practice What We Preach' offers further resources for lecturers and students that continue to bridge theory and practice to improve the art of management.
