Travelling overseas? Plan to stay well.

Pre and post travel health services

Deakin Medical Centres provide comprehensive pre and post travel health services including;

  • pre departure travel health advice including a travel brief for the countries you are travelling to and current travel health updates
  • travel vaccinations (the Medical Centre at Melbourne Burwood Campus is also an Accredited Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre)

Travel vaccinations

Travel vaccinations are available all year through Deakin Medical Centres. These are cost effective for students and staff seeking vaccination prior to departure.   We advise you book a travel consultation at least 8 weeks prior to departure to ensure you complete your vaccination course.

International travel insurance for students

The Deakin University Travel Insurance provides insurance cover for students, when undertaking study related travel (including exchange and study abroad).

Additional travel health websites

Whilst care has been taken to ensure that these external websites are credible sources of information, no responsibility can be taken for the content. Web-based health information does not replace the need to see an appropriate health professional prior to departure. Please ensure you plan a visit to your doctor at least 8 weeks prior to travel.

An important web site to review prior to any overseas travel is Smart Traveller (Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade) - the official Australian Government's travel advice and consular assistance service. Information includes travel tips, travel advice for particular destinations, an email update service and general travel health related news from around the globe.
